I designed the first Arborline chair to solve a problem for designers at the Rouse company. They liked an Aalto woven strap chair, but their facilities managers rejected the prospect of putting chairs with cotton webbing in a shopping mall food court.

By coincidence, just before my meeting with the Rouse Company, I received a piece of junk mail with a sample of surplus automotive seat belting. I loved the prospect of using a recycled material, so I proposed the idea to the Rouse company. Click here to see Exton Mall

The belting is beautiful. The way they are woven catches light in interesting ways, always changing and sometimes translucent. They are unbelievably strong and fade resistant. Black belts are standard; many colors are available. As surplus material, belt colors change. So your plan needs to be flexible enough to use an alternate belt color.

The Arborlines are made of maple hardwood frames. A perfect choice for food courts, residences, restaurants, hotels and cafeterias.

The Arborline group includes many types of seating, please view the options. back to chairs
